Effectiveness and tolerability of Strondex spray (sildenafil) in patients with erectile dysfunction

Abstract
Patients and methods. 30 men with erectile dysfunction (total EF-IIEF score <17) aged 30 to 65 years with a stable sexual partner and the ability to have at least 2 sexual contacts a week were
included in the study. Patients used Strondex (by spraying into the mouth) for 20–30 minutes before sexual intercourse. The recommended dose of the drug for one use was 25 mg (2 sprays).
Effectiveness of Spray Strondex was assessed by a change in the total score of IIEF and individual domains characterizing erectile function, orgasm, satisfaction with sexual intercourse and sexual life in general after the end of therapy. Tolerance – by frequency, nature and severity of adverse events/reactions.
Results. It was found that Strondex increases the ability of a patient with ED to perform introjection and maintain an erection, which is confirmed by a clinically and statistically significant increase in the average score for the relevant questions (by 1,7–2,2 points) and a total score of EF-IIEF (by 11 points). Strondex is characterized by a satisfactory tolerance: undesirable phenomena during its use included transient tachycardia, flushing, nasal congestion (33,3%) and headache (3,3%).
Conclusion. Strondex can be recommended for the treatment of patients with ED.
