Abstract

The article presents an analytical review of studies on the treatment of urination disorders in men over 40. Advances in pharmacology over the last decades have allowed to radically changing approaches to the treatment of patients with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). In this regard, it becomes urgent problem of choice of adequate drugs, which should effectively eliminate the symptoms without causing side effects and without reducing the quality of life of patients. The drug of first choice for the treatment of disorders of urination in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia can be called a blocker α1-blockers tamsulosin. With the help of tamsulosin was managed by 65–70% to reduce the frequency of surgical interventions in connection with this pathology and the number of associated intra- and postoperative complications. High pharmacological selectivity of action of tamsulosin determines the clinical safety of this drug and makes it convenient for practical application.
