Early results of laser «Greenlight» 120W (experience of 150 operations) in the treatment of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia prostate

Abstract

The purpose of the clinical evaluation was the application of a transurethral prostate PVP (RV) using a laser power of 120 W in men with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The study found that PVP RV (FVPZH) is an effective treatment of LUTS due to BPH. There has been an improvement in performance according to IPSS, QoL immediately after surgery. Our study confirmed a significant improvement in urodynamic results after FVPZH, a small number of complications. Furthermore, it can be safely used in high risk patients (i.e. patients receiving anticoagulant or in patients with severe pathology kardiolegochnoy). Clinical results FVPZH similar to the corresponding results after the application of a transurethral resection of the prostate, while reducing the risk of the operation, even in high risk patients. These clinical ben efits are confirmed by the relevant urodynamic parameters. But the potential benefits of using 120 watts «green laser» is still not proven large randomized trials.
